by Lecture Chackrit Duangphastra in 1997 *(The Full Text view in Thai Language only)*

Maritime transport plays a role in developing Thai economy and trade.Efficient and strong Thai merchant fleet is able to enhance economic potential of the nation. Marketins measure is one the pervasive promotion measures employed to stimulate shipping development. This measure has long been implemented in Thailand in forms of cabotage law, foreign cargo reservation, and bilateral agreement. However, the General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS), which will be applied to Thailand no later than the year 2005, together with the trend in economic integration of this region, may limit the use of existing marketing measure and therefore require a new adjustment.

The reseach aims at studying marketing measures which are suitable for related organisation and economic environment. It also examines various marketing strategies available to shipping firms to develop their own business on their own effort.
